If you've seen your Sub-Zero refrigerator's filter listed under three different numbers, that's not a mix-up. 4204490, 4290510, and 9030868 all refer to the same physical filter. Sub-Zero has issued it under different part numbers over time, but the cartridge itself, the fit, and the performance haven't changed.

One Filter, Three Names You Might See

Whether your owner's manual, parts diagram, or old receipt lists the Sub-Zero 4204490 Water Filter, the Sub-Zero 4290510 Refrigerator Water Filter, or the Sub-Zero 9030868 Refrigerator Water Filter, you're looking at the same part. Ordering by any of the three numbers gets you an identical cartridge that fits the same housing the same way.

Cleaner Water You Can Actually Taste

An activated carbon block inside the cartridge pulls out chlorine taste and odor along with sediment, so water from the dispenser comes out noticeably cleaner than what's coming straight from the tap.

Ice That Comes Out Clear

Because the same filtered water feeds the ice maker, cubes freeze up clear instead of cloudy, without the fine sediment that sometimes gets trapped inside unfiltered ice.

A Simple Swap, No Matter Which Number You Order

All three part numbers install the same way. The cartridge slides into the housing behind the top grille and locks with a quarter turn, so there's no difference in installation regardless of which number appears on the box.
